What I Learned From My First Failure In Business

STARTING OUT

Once upon a time, I decided to start a business. I worked in retail and was intrigued by the idea of starting my own t-shirt company. I was like, “How hard can it be to sell some shirts?” So, I did some research and watched some online videos. Then, I got to work. I created a website, registered my business name, and paid taxes on the small profits I gained. I even had international brand ambassadors modeling my apparel. It was pretty cool. My goal was to keep my overhead costs low while having no inventory on hand. I was able to find a fulfillment website called Printful. You pay them once you get an order. They have the inventory and print on demand. If you have the budget, they can even help with branding. I thought I was doing it. In reality, my business was not making any profit, and I was investing too much capital into it. And this was money I could not afford to lose at the time. But I pressed on.
